Cookbooks on my Nook

The BF surprised me with a Nook for Xmas, and I fell in love with it immediately. I am able to borrow books freely from my public library, and downloading each book is quick and easy.

This week, I discovered that there were cookbooks available! I checked out Rachael Ray's Look & Cook. I am allowed to view this book for 21 days on my Nook. After 21 days the book expires, and it magically disappears from my Nook. My Nook is black & white. I didn't want the color because I didn't want a backlight. I spend most of my day online (3 jobs), and during times of leisurely reading, I wanted something easy on the eyes.

Black & white photos of food aren't quite as awesome as color photos, but I have been very impressed with cooking the recipes in Look & Cook.
When I go grocery shopping for ingredients, I bring my lightweight Nook in my purse. There is no need to make a list.

Let me know if you have any questions about borrowing cookbooks from your public library. Also, let me know if you have any questions about purchasing an e-reader. I have done my homework on this topic.

Bethenny

I really like Bethenny Frankel.

She is definitely my favorite person on The Real Housewives of New York City. She's raw. I love her directness and humor.

I enjoyed watching her cook and talk about food on The Real Housewives of New York City and on Bethenny Getting Married.

When I found out that she was writing books about food and nutrition, I was super excited.

That's when I started reading Naturally Thin: Unleash Your Skinnygirl and Free Yourself from a Lifetime of Dieting.

I wanted to like it.

I hated it.

I kept reading.

I kept hating it.

The recipes were lame and too easy. The ingredients were really simplistic and obvious choices for eating healthily.

She kept expressing her disdain for diets, yet she also constantly mentioned that she had videos on diet.com. Terminology hypocrite?

Also, have you tried an egg white omelet? I feel like every magazine and diet book recommends egg white breakfast recipes. zzzzzz... Got anything new? How about a diet with some flavor?

Eat, Pray, Love

Have you read it? I just finished the book.

I have not been to India or Indonesia, but I have been to Italy.

I could barely focus on the other parts of the book.

Italy.

Ahhhhh...

My palate is still thanking me.

Go. Now.

Like, go purchase a plane ticket. I'm serious.

Why are you still reading this?

Go order your ticket right now.

The food that I had in Italy was literally the best food that I have ever had. It all tasted so fresh and well seasoned.

I can't wait to go back.

Maybe I'll go for my honeymoon in approximately 2025.

Sigh.

Excuse me, I must go buy a lottery ticket.
